Deepika Padukone is one of the few actresses in Bollywood who is a real example of “Beauty with Brains”. She does not shy away from what she says if she feels she is right about it. In a viral clip in latest Koffee With Karan Season episode viral clip, she is seen saying the following:
“I wanted to be single for a while because I had come from difficult relationships. I was going through a phase where I said, ‘I just don’t want to be attached, I don’t want to be committed’. And I had fun! And then he comes along. So I didn’t commit until he proposed to me. There was no commitment as such. Even if we were technically allowed to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other.”
Although a section of netizens are not happy with her comment, she seems to be spot on with her open relationship stance. Her views reflect that we no longer live in a patriarchal society where women are just objects to be defined by the way they are treated by their men. Kudos to her for having come out like this.
Koffee With Karan has always been a show filled with controversies and has changed many lives of people who have come up with bold statements in the past and the show feeds on these controversies. So it is not quite surprising that this particular clip was released and it went viral instantly.
Deepika has had her share of difficult relationships in the past, and it is quite justified what she said. She has been linked to Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the past and also had a troubling relationship with Siddharth Mallya.
Ranveer and Deepika are one of the most loved, beautiful, and courageous couples in the industry today, so it does not seem right for these controversies to emerge out of nowhere. They love each other and that’s what matters the most.
