MG Windsor EV vs Tata Nexon EV, Range, Battery & Features Comparison
MG Motor India recently launched the MG Windsor EV in India, which is the brand’s third all-electric model for the market after the ZS EV and the smaller Comet EV. Positioned below the ZS EV, the upcoming Windsor has a starting price of Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This however does not include the cost of the battery. The battery is offered on a subscription basis at a minimum cost of Rs. 3.50 per km. At that price, the Windsor goes up against some of the major players in the mass-market EV space including the Tata Nexon EV. So how do the two cars compare? Let’s take a look.

The Windsor is much bigger than the Nexon EV in almost every aspect
As was always evident, the Windsor gets a size advantage over the Nexon EV which is based on a subcompact SUV. The MG is longer, wider, taller and comes with a 200mm longer wheelbase. The MG also gets a noticeably bigger boot. Apart from the size, the design approach of both the EVs is also different.
However, the Nexon EV gets a significant SUV look compared to the more MPV-like proportions of the Windsor
While the Nexon looks the part of a sub-compact SUV, the Windsor comes across as a 5-seater MPV and MG itself calls it a crossover utility vehicle. The cab-forward design and extended roofline give it an MPV-like profile, while the improved lighting arrangement at the front certainly looks great.
